Sandwiched between Bar Med and Flares night club on Lower Claremont Bank is probably the ideal place for an Indian restaurant. But Kasturi 2 doesn't seem to attact the passing late night pub trade, in fact it probably rivals Shuvecha as the most upmarket and modern curry restaurant in the town. Downstairs is a bar and take-away service, while upstairs supports a good sized dining area. When we visited quite a few of our fellow diners were dressed up a bit, a sure sign of good food that attracts people celebrating birthdays or annyversaries. The menu contains a very good selection of starters and side dishes, and like most Indian restaurants, so many main courses that choosing is bitter sweet because you always end up wishing you had ordered what your Mum/brother/wife ordered. The portions are good and the food was heat hot as well as spicy hot - there is nothing worse than a luke warm curry. We were too full for desert though there were a few on offer. The staff were helpful when explaining some of the dishes on the menu and wished us a good evening as we left for a stroll along the river, just around the corner. We would definitely visit again.
