very nice lunch, good service........lovely staff, we will be back

I have to say I didn't have high expectations of Loch Fyne. I had heard mixed reports from friends and it is a chain restaurant after all. But I have to say I found it very impressive. The interior is very light and airy and the tables and general atmosphere make you feel like you are sitting in someone's kitchen rather than in a fish restaurant. I liked that. There was plenty of choice, and a specials board. Despite them being quite busy were were quickly brought drinks and received starters soon after. I've never had such a strong desire to take out a camera and photograph my food as I did when my starter arrived. The presentation was unbelievably good, and the main course was just as good. In terms of taste, I couldn't fault any of the dishes I tried. I will say that it isn't cheap and you don't get a lot for your money, but then seafood and fish are only going to get more expensive as we continue to decimate the oceans. For a chain restaurant they are doing a fantastic job and obviously care about their product. It was also refreshing to see a Shrewsbury restaurant who understand marketing, with a table mat voucher scheme and a business card for a free bottle of wine on your next visit. Not rocket science, but they are one of the few forward thinking restaurants in town and for that reason alone they should do well. I will definitely eat here again.

Beware the '2 courses for £12 between 12 noon and 7pm' offer. Apparently you have to order before 6.45pm - but it doesn't tell you this anywhere!

A chain, but a good one, the fish is always fresh and the service fast and friendly, I can recommend the seafood platter to share, delicious! I did find the Bradan Rost starter rather dry though and it can sometimes get noisy and the tables rather tightly packed, not one if you're looking for a quiet meal.

tasty food - all good
