called at the horseshoes by chance on sunday night with my wife and had a very good meal £16.95 for 3 courses very good value and service will be going again

Our second visit to the Horseshoes in its new guise and it was certainly buzzing. The bar was full of folk who looked as though they�d been shooting, and there were a couple of large Christmas parties in the restaurant and a handful of couples. Eight of us sat down clutching pints of Ludlow Gold or Wye Valley HPA or, in the case of the ladies, the house Ladera Verde, Sauvignon Blanc.

Orders had been efficiently take in the bar and the starters came promptly. Pigeon breast and whitebait were declared to be especially good and the main course duck and roast pheasant were also pronounced excellent.

Compliments were slow in respect of the beefburger and the supreme of chicken stuffed with chorizo. Desserts included an excellent sticky toffee pudding. The bill for eight of us including beer and five bottles of wine amounted to �260, which we thought was good value. We�ll be going again
