To help us decide where to eat and buy food, Shropshire Council inspect food businesses in Shropshire and produce food hygiene ratings from 0 to 5, based on factors such as food preparation, storage, cleanliness and facilities.

The Indian Village was rated 3: generally satisfactory.

well what can i say the food is to die for the service is great the let down was the guy that brought veg delievery caught the fire alarm button and set it off what a noise we went to leave but the owner convinced us to stay and the food was worth staying for and when we left he came up the street to say sorry which he didnt have to so thankyou we will be back

We tried this restaurant a couple of weeks ago. We were initially told that a table for 10+ would not be available until 10.30 on the saturday night. In the event we chanced it, turned up early (10pm and starving!) and the place was practically empty. We did feel the table timings may have been a cynical ploy to co-ordinate the look of a bust restaurant with pub closing, HOWEVER the food and the service were fab, both efficient and friendly staff. Meals came out hot and together and everyone enjoyed their selections.

Me and my wife visited this restaurant today and i must say, the service was exceptional. The waiters were attentive and the food was exquisite.

I have eaten here many times before and each time i have had a good time. The dishes are reasonably priced and worth the wait even on a busy night.

This restaurant is highly recommended to all curry lovers!!!

This place has to be by far my most favourite Indian restaurant in town. Not only do they serve the best curries but the atmosphere here is always buzzing every time I have been... Hardly surprising with the high standard of food that they provide their customers. The service that I have received every time that my partner and I have been has been really good considering how busy it normally is. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great curry and a beautiful rose to end the evening. Wouldn't dream of going anywhere else :)

This restaurant is the place to be... They serve the best Indian food that's not only tasty, full of flavour but attractive and well presented... My friends and I often dine here when we want to host a party or a large event... The food is always perfect and on time... Their service at the Indian Village is impeccable... So kind, well mannered and very good when needing assistance in picking something to eat... this restaurants best touch is the beautiful rose you get at the end of the meal to take home with you... My personal favourite haha... I would definitely recommend that you try this restaurant as I'm positive that you really won't be disappointed.

Visited on 31/05/11 on a spare of the moment. Set menu looked promising. Staff were very attentive and food was served efficiently. Nice touch with the rose and liqueur at the end. Food was lovely and was well worth the money. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Came here tonight for the first time, as it was my sons birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were efficient, as well as being very friendly and helpful.
A lovely touch, was giving myself my sons girlfriend and my stepdaughters a rose each. I would definitely recommend visiting the Indian Village for a sit down meal or for a takeaway.

I came here tonight to go for a meal with my family and i must say, the atmosphere is amazing. The staff are wonderful and helpful, the food is delicious and most of all it doesn't cost a fortune. I come most weekends with my partner and we have to say, it's our favourite indian in Shrewsbury by far.

Never had any issue with our food or drinks...
Definitely would say come and experience this place for yourselves guys before you make a judgement on reading some of these comments...

Very good food and exceptional service. The restaurant was of course very busy due to christmas but it was well worth the wait for the food. The atmosphere in this restaurant is so amazing, you can tell its a well established restaurant with great food by looking at how busy it gets here. The staff are very well mannered and provide a great service. Highly Recommend this place for anyone who wants great food and a great atmosphere and high quality service.

By far the best Indian Restaurant in Shrewsbury if not Shrophsire! The food is fantastic and fresh! The fish is devine and King Prawns are giant size, never had anything like this before in England. A+ would definately recommend to any Indian Food lover! The service is great too!

The food here was amazing and so tasty... by far the best that me and my wife have had in Shrewsbury. the atmosphere in the restaurant was so warm and welcoming and the owner made us feel very comfortable. The Indian Village has been extended and both sides look beautiful. Both me and my wife look forward to eating here again soon. We both recommend this restaurant very highly.

Loved the food here, the food is full of flavour and tasty. The service was excellent too. As i left i was given a red rose which i thought was a beautiful touch. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Went here for the first time at it was probably the best Indian I've had. Very peaceful restaurant with very good staff. Every meal from the popadoms to the main courses were superb. We were given free oranges after the meal and a free shot of baileys each which went down very well. On top of that the price was very good.

I love it here- great food. Beware, you get a proper Vindaloo here, not a watered down version like some restaraunts do! God, I suffered! I've recently had a home delivery from them, and that was really good too. Highly recommended.

I have been to the indian village a few times, and the food has always been very good. The lunch specials are very good value. The boss can be a little too over enthusiastic with his staff, but thats because hes a perfectionist. I have known him for 7 years and he has always been that way. I dont think hes going to change now. He also owns the Ganges takeaway in Abbey Foregate, which i frequent often. I think the food at the Ganges is equally as good as the indian village, and a bit cheaper too. :)

Went last night and enjoyed some really nice food. Also a pleasant change to see a menu with several fish dishes.

Having eaten at most of the Indian restaurants in town, this has to be my favourite. The food is consistently of a very high standard and it is good to see a range of fish dishes available. The staff are very friendly and attentive although initially on occasions the owner can appear to be quite overbearing with his staff. Having eaten there many times I think that he is trying to is ensure that the service and food within his restaurant is top quality. He is always willing to provide advice and suggestions about dishes to choose.
