Excellent beer, brilliant food and fantastic staff! Brilliant atmosphere with very friendly and chatty locals, you can always have a good laugh with the staff as well!

I did think that this cozy and historic town centre pub might lose its appeal once it lost its unique selling point a couple of years ago when all pubs had to become non-smoking, but it's as good as ever. Excellent range of ever changing beers which are kept in tip-top condition, good atmosphere and although the beer takes centre stage here, the pub does a good range of hearty home cooked food too. Can be tricky to get a table though, it isn't very big!
