My wife and I ate at this restaurant on Saturday night and I would say simply that the restaurant is in need of a slight refurb if not moving to a new location, although I think some people would see where they are and how it's decorated as part of it's charm! Food was however very good and if you're looking for authentic Italian cooking this is the place. Yum, yum!!

Wonderful place, the food is very good and the owner is extremely entertaining.

The best Italian in the town. Well, that right: not "roumored to be the best" or "possibly, the best". The best. Numero uno. And it's always full with repeat customers.

Cosy, delicious, charming, well-run, Shrewsbury's best kept secret are some of the words that come to mind.

Thriving during the recession, whilst other restaurants that relied on a never-ending stream of tourists instead of reputation of great food are closing their doors.

Make sure to give them a ring and book a table in advance.

Visited in February and was a little concerned that one reviewer thought the staff eccentric need not have worried charming and friendly. Interor is eccentric and as Italy was in the 1970s please give it a try.

This is a small and intimate restaurant near St Alkmonds church. The owner is ever present and quite a character. If you go in and ask if you can have a table for two, don't be surprised if he says no. His sense of humour is something else. The walls are covered in posters and maps of Italy and the food was very authentically Italian.

This restaurant is uniquely situated in the old vestry of St Julian's church. Authentic Italian smells of basil and garlic waft out over St Alkmunds place every lunchtime and evening. Inside, wooden panelling and souvenirs of Italy cover every inch of the walls of the cosy room.

Good value pasta specials at lunchtimes, including a free side salad and meat, fish and pasta dishes from the a la carte menu in the evening followed by impossible to resist dessert from the ever tempting tray. The staff are best described as eccentric, but in the best possible way. A good choice for a romantic meal, or a girls night out.
