Number 4

Who are they

Another place serving great food on Butcher Row, the originally named Number Four (located at 4 Butcher Row) are a cafe in the food sense of the word. Of course you can sit down and just have a relaxing drink, but once you catch sight of their menu, you will understand why most people stick around for lunch.

What do they offer

You are best interacting with them on social, as, like many food businesses these days, they have realised that the interaction they can get there is far better than they can achieve with their own website - which is currently out of date in terms of the menu. We can tell you, having visited quite recently, that they are the masters of breakfast: full English, eggs Benedict, mountains of toast. The lords of lunch: bacon rolls, fish finger sarnies. And the dukes of dinner: lasagne, tapas, steak and chips.

Why do we like them

Simple interior, very informal and the staff seem genuinely rather than fake friendly. The food at Number Four is priced well and tastes pretty good to us. We haven't tried much off the menu yet but the chef seems to have a wide repertoire so we are looking forward to trying more.

It's so refreshing to come across somewhere which is exactly what you've been looking for-lovely friendly staff-relaxed even though it's almost always very busy, food which makes you wish you had extra stomachs...Oh well, just have to come back again and again...

Just wonderful - have enjoyed many lovely lunches and recently tried their delicious Friday evening menu; fantastic. Just what the town centre needs - keep up the good work! I hear the breakfasts are amazing, but can they beat The Silverton?

Popped in today (first time) for a Tea & Scone. Service was great, food to table very fast. Staff very helpful whilst being very busy. Food tasty and well made. Proper size napkin/serviette. Great price too. I shall revisit very soon.

'Girls who lunch' - Excellent food, good value, relaxed but efficient friendly service and generally feels very different from anywhere else in the town. Can't wait to try breakfast or evening menu.

Best breakfast in Shrewsbury. I've had a few so should know. Always clean when I've been, I'm at the sharp end of healthcare and know what to look for.
