I dined at Origins with my wife and was absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and the friendly service from the College’s students. Following our amuse bouche, I chose a starter of steamed mussels with coconut, coriander & linguini.

This starter was an extremely generous portion, which was one of the nicest dishes I’ve tasted in a long time. My main course was loin of pork with apple & black pudding, sage potatoes, crackling and cider cream.

This was the first time I’ve had pork in years and it was cooked to perfection, with a wonderful range of flavours. I usually don’t have desert, but I was tempted by the description of warm chestnut cake with chocolate sorbet… and it didn’t disappoint.

All this for £14.95 per person is amazing value, definitely worth a visit.

Delicious and well presented food in a pleasant dining area. Really excellent value for money. You won't get this quality for this price anywhere else. Sometimes slightly nervous service from students (they are learning after all!) but always friendly and you are really made welcome. I would place this as one of my favourite places to eat in Shrewsbury.
